Mission of the Training and Skills Development Unit
To deliver high-quality specialized training through innovative training programs and accredited professional certifications for university affiliates and the local community, to enhance their capabilities and skills in various fields through collaboration with public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Objectives of the Training and Skills Development Unit
- Establish and develop the unit.
- Prepare semester and annual training plans.
- Achieve the Applied College's training objectives as outlined in its mission.
- Promote awareness of the importance of training in developing skills and enhancing capabilities for the target groups within the college, university, and local community.
- Identify training needs for the target groups within the college and the local community based on scientific standards and criteria.
- Introduce students to professional certifications and highlight their importance in the labor market.
- Study and evaluate professional certifications included in the college programs and provide recommendations.
- Implement, monitor, and update training programs while identifying potential training providers.
- Prepare final reports on the training programs offered by the unit.
- Contribute to establishing training-related partnerships with various entities.
- Equip student trainees with new skills and enhance existing ones through practical training.
- Develop a database for practical training.
- Provide feedback to the college regarding the alignment of its program outcomes with labor market needs and suggest improvements.
- Enhance trainees' employment opportunities by aligning their qualifications with labor market demands.
Tasks of the Training and Skills Development Unit
- Study and determine the training needs of university affiliates and local community members.
- Develop an annual training plan detailing all proposed programs to be delivered by the unit.
- Offer both free and paid training programs for various sectors in line with current developments and trends.
- Organize workshops and training sessions for college affiliates to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Implement performance development programs for all college affiliates based on their training needs.
- Coordinate and monitor the execution of training programs, conduct evaluations, and prepare necessary reports.
- Collaborate with all relevant internal and external entities involved in training.
- Participate in scientific seminars and conferences in collaboration with specialized university colleges and units.
- Propose plans and programs to provide training opportunities for college affiliates in various fields following applicable regulations and in coordination with relevant entities.
- Nominate trainers from the college to deliver the proposed training programs at the college premises.
- Coordinate and communicate with relevant entities regarding course registrations for training conducted within the college or outside the university and forward the details to the concerned authority.
- Register faculty members and administrative staff for training programs offered by the university or other governmental entities.
- Identify target entities and ensure alignment with program outcomes.
- Communicate with relevant entities and determine the expected number of training seats.
- Prepare students for the practical training phase.
- Develop a database and maintain records for practical training.
- Monitor labor market skill requirements through field visits conducted by academic supervisors to training entities.
- Provide feedback on practical training to the college’s programs and plans committee.
