IC3 (GS5): International Certification for Computer and Internet Essentials - Global Standard 5

The certification provides specific guidance for the knowledge and essential skills required to become proficient in computer basics, software, networks, and the internet. Thus, IC3 provides a global standard for basic computer and internet skills, and obtaining the certification means acquiring basic skills, enhancing the ability to deal with computers and the internet, developing skills to improve job efficiency, and the ability to conduct electronic transactions quickly and accurately.

Obtaining the certification requires passing three exams distributed across three main topics: Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Internet Applications. The Computing Fundamentals exam measures users' knowledge of computer equipment and basic skills in operating systems. The Key Applications exam measures the efficiency of users in office applications such as word processing, presentation, and spreadsheets. The Internet Applications exam measures basic skills in using networks, email, the internet, and internet browsing software.

The IC3 International Certification for Computer and Internet Essentials was approved by the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF) in May 2020, and the certification is financially supported, where the maximum compensation for the certification is as follows:

1. Exam cost compensation: SAR 1,300
2. Training cost compensation: SAR 1,700
