Mission of the Programs Committee
To lead the development of academic programs at the Applied College to meet labor market demands and provide effective support to sub-program committees within the college, ensuring the delivery of advanced and distinguished undergraduate academic programs.
Objectives of the Programs Committee
- Develop and introduce academic programs that align with benchmark standards and meet the needs and satisfaction of stakeholders.
- Define criteria for preparing and reviewing academic program study plans.
- Foster academic collaboration with various committees within the college to improve and enhance study plans and academic programs.
Tasks of the Programs Committee
- Propose new academic programs to address labor market needs.
- Design and describe new academic programs and their courses using academic standards to meet labor market requirements.
- Review and update study plans for existing academic programs in line with scientific advancements, labor market demands, and the latest version of the National Qualifications Framework.
- Review and approve minor modifications to programs and courses, draft reports on these changes, and submit them for official approval.
- Recommend reopening previously closed academic programs or closing programs that no longer align with labor market demands or support the national transformation and Vision 2030.
- Communicate and coordinate with relevant committees within the college and program development committees at other colleges within the university.
- Submit meeting minutes and progress reports to the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs.
