The Student Guidance Committee, in collaboration with the Student Activities Committee at the Applied College, held an orientation and guidance meeting for new students on Tuesday, 6th of Safar, 1445 AH, corresponding to August 22, 2023 AD. The ceremony was opened by Dr. Belqasim bin Hassan Al-Jafri, the Executive President of the Applied College, with a welcome speech to the faculty members and students. He spoke about the role of the Applied College in achieving the goals of the Vision 2030 national vision through offering specialized applied majors to meet the needs of the job market. This will contribute to qualifying national cadres with diploma degrees linked to professional certifications that align with development targets. He also emphasized the importance of perseverance, diligence, and effort in academic achievement, as well as the role of academic excellence in building the student's character, preparing them for the future, and contributing to the development of society and the progress of the nation.
Then, Dr. Osama Mahdi spoke about all the academic terms and procedures related to the admission and registration system, which the student carries out through the Academic System Portal. Dr. Naji Al-Sharif also discussed the concept of academic guidance and its importance in guiding the student, as well as the role of the counselor and the student in the guidance process. Following that, Dr. Fawaz Aqlan provided a detailed explanation of the college's excellent website, its departments, and all the options and links that are relevant to the student.
At the end of the ceremony, the college administration honored the graduating students and those who excelled, wishing them continued success and prosperity.
