The Student Activities Committee, in collaboration with the Training and Skills Development Unit at the Applied College, hosted a lecture on Tuesday, 16 Rabi' Al-Thani 1445 H, corresponding to October 31, 2023. The lecture was titled "Introduction to Cybersecurity" and was presented by Dr. Basim Al-Abssi. The event was attended by the college's CEO, Dr. Belqasim Al-Ja'fari, and several faculty members and students.

Dr. Basim Al-Abssi discussed the nature of cybersecurity, its key pillars, and the strategy of balancing these pillars. He also addressed threats, vulnerabilities, and risks that systems may face, including social engineering threats, and emphasized the skills required to embark on a career in the field of cybersecurity.
